I’ve only tried them out a few days, for a short period. Fairly easy to put on. They stick to a hard crusty snow like Velcro. They bight into ice for good traction. Good product

As seen on

it's not the snow. it's what's frozen underneath it.

Snow you can walk on. Everybody can walk on snow.

What takes a man down is the cycle every northern winter runs on repeat — it snows, it warms up, it rains, it refreezes hard overnight. By morning your walkway is a sheet of glass with three inches of powder sitting on top of it like a rug over a trap door.

You put your foot down. It looks like snow. It isn't.

And here's the part that separates 40 from 65: at 40 you go down, you swear, you get up. Past 60, you go down and you lie there for a second doing arithmetic. Can I move. Can I get up. Is anybody home.

One fall on ice averages a $30,000+ hospital bill and six weeks off your feet. Hip, wrist, tailbone, ribs, head. That's the real price of walking out to the mailbox on a bad morning.

A pair of these costs less than your co-pay.

you've probably already bought cleats that don't work

Most men have a failed pair in the hall closet right now. There are exactly two kinds, and both fail the same way.

The coil kind. Rubber straps with a steel spring wound around them. No teeth at all — just wire lying flat against the ground. On fresh snow they're fine. On the hard glaze underneath, they skate. Ask anybody who's tried to snowblow a refrozen driveway in a pair.

The glued-stud kind. Little metal nubs pressed into a rubber pad. These grip — for about two weeks. Then the studs start popping off one at a time until you've got a rubber pancake with four teeth left and a false sense of security under your heel.

Both fail because of the same shortcut: the teeth aren't attached to anything structural.

teeth on steel chain. that's the whole difference.

Sabertooth Ice Grips don't glue anything to anything.

Eighteen quarter-inch stainless steel teeth are mounted directly onto welded steel chain that runs beneath your sole in a crossing lattice — two clusters under the ball of your foot, one under the heel. Chain doesn't stretch. Chain doesn't tear. Chain doesn't let go of a tooth.

Step down and the teeth don't rest on the surface. They penetrate it — through the powder, into the ice, a quarter inch deep. You'll hear it. It sounds like cracking a walnut. That sound is the reason your foot stays exactly where you put it.

And the spacing is deliberate. Cleats with 24 teeth crammed together look tougher and perform worse — wet snow packs between them and turns into a snowball under your boot. Sabertooth teeth sit wide apart. One hard stomp and they're clear.

Sabertooth ice grips Earns Its Spot For

If you walk a dog. Nobody salts back roads. Your dog slips, you correct for it, and that's the moment you go down — one hand on a leash, eyes on traffic instead of your feet. These keep your foot exactly where you put it whether you're watching the ground or not.

If you hunt. Frozen two-tracks before sunrise, iced leaf litter on the walk in, the climb up to the stand in the dark. You're carrying gear and you can't see the ground. Eighteen teeth mean you're not testing every step with your toe.

If you've got chores. Feed sacks up an icy grade. Firewood from the pile to the porch. Snowblowing a driveway that's already a skating rink. Loaded arms and no free hand to catch yourself is how a man ends up in a recliner for six weeks.

Everyone Loves This product

Very happy with fit and performance. Goes on my boots well, and stays on! We've had others fall off and never to be found. These are heavy duty and very well constructed. I fall A LOT in the winter. Seriously, I'm very good at it. But these have kept me upright all winter. I've had the chain ones, and they are good for general use, but these dig in and were great walking across a glass like frozen lake in ice fishing season. The rubber is good, and strong also. Would buy again. Oh., and LOVE the color!

Held up perfectly on the mountain trails near Estes Park, Colorado. Super high quality product, made from durable material. I felt traction throughout my hike, and entirely stable, even while crossing over completely iced and difficult uphill gravel sections. I had no trouble while my partner was suffering with popular brand YakTrax, that had him slipping and sliding down. I offered him one of these crampons, and we both managed just fine with just one of these each, they were so effective. The adjustable strap and stretchy tough silicone is what made it possible to share with my boyfriend, I wear a women’s 6.5, he wears about a men’s 10, but we made it work. These are wonderfully easy to put on, and taking off is the same(just a bit muddier). I love having the included bag for protection and safe storage, so I don’t poke myself while blindly reaching into my pack. Wonderful product, I’m planning to order another pair for him before our next travels to replace his inferior set from YakTrax.

So far these crampons have worked really well on our hikes up Mount Baldy Summit, Thunder Mountain, and San Jacinto Peak. They’ve helped keep me stable and confident on icy and steep sections of the trails, and I appreciate how easy they are to put on. Once they’re on, they stay secure without slipping or needing constant adjustment. For the quality and performance, they’re a great value for the money, and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone hiking similar terrain.

FAQs

Payment method

- We accept payment via Paypal, Credit card, Debit card. If you want to pay via wire transfers (Bank transfer) or Bitcoin, simply email us at support@dinosaurized.com.

Which size do I need?

Large fits most men's work, winter and muck boots, roughly size 8–12. Medium covers 5–8. Between the two? Take Large. The silicone gives more than the numbers suggest.

Will these fit my tall insulated rubber boots?

Yes. That's the most common boot our customers put them on. The frame stretches wide and cups over the toe.

How do I get them on with arthritic hands?

Best trick from our customers: put the grips on your boots before you put the boots on your feet. Sit down, stretch them over the sole, then step in. Takes all the fight out of it.

Refund?

- If for whatever reason, you decide you are not satisfied, you can easily and quickly contact our helpful customer support (support@dinosaurized.com) to get an easy refund. We just ask that you send the product back to our warehouse.
