How much weight will it hold?

The N52 magnet holds flat steel tools — hammers, wrenches, pliers — and a handful of screws or bits with no trouble. Buyers report holding 3-5 lb hammers and 2-foot wrenches. Bigger, irregular tools hold a little weaker because less flat surface touches the magnet.

Will it scratch or magnetize my tools?

The face is rubber-coated so it won't scratch. A strong magnet will lightly magnetize tools over time — normal for any rare-earth magnet, and a demagnetizer clears it if you care.

What does it clip onto?
