A1: 3 inches all the way around. Measured from the base of the crown to the outer edge. Wider than the issued military boonie (2.5"), narrower than a beach hat (4"+). The 3-inch number is the sweet spot — wide enough to fully shade your ears at midday, narrow enough to not catch a tree branch in a stand.

Q2: What's the actual fabric?

A2: 65% cotton, 35% polyester ripstop weave. Treated for UPF 50+ and quick-dry. Not the same as the cotton-only military issue (which holds water and dries slow).
