"Just took this to the Boundary Waters in far North Minnesota. Temps got down to low 20's. With my winter bag and this underquilt, my hammock camp was comfy. Highly recommend."

Didn't believe the space claim so I measured it on my own bench. Same contents, about half the footprint. My bag holds twice what it used to

As seen on

if your hammock sleeps cold, start here

Here's the problem with hammock camping most people don't say out loud: your sleeping bag stops working the moment you lie on it. Your body weight crushes the loft flat. Flat insulation has no dead-air space. The coldest surface on your entire body ends up being the strip of nylon two millimeters from a moving column of open air.

That's the "hammock chill" nobody warns you about, and it's not the top. It's the bottom. An underquilt fixes it by hanging on the outside of the hammock, uncompressed, doing its full job all night.

Full 700g of insulation stays lofted, never compressed by your weight

No more waking up at 3 a.m. with a freezer-shelf back

Even a 20° sleeping bag actually delivers its rating for the first time

Works whether you sleep straight or diagonal in the hammock

20d ripstop + dwr is the whole point

Down insulation loses about 70% of its warmth the moment it gets wet. Doesn't have to be a downpour. Morning condensation on the tarp. A splash from a river crossing. Humidity from your own breath on a cold night. Once the feathers clump, they don't loft, and once they don't loft, you're sleeping on a soggy dish rag until the sun comes up.

Dino runs a 20D ripstop nylon shell with a DWR coating, over 700g of SEE synthetic fill. Water beads off the outside, and the fill inside keeps working even if a little gets through. It's why military and backcountry rescue units run synthetic in wet climates.

01. Shell that sheds water
20D ripstop nylon + DWR (durable water repellent). Rain, dew, and condensation bead off the surface instead of soaking through.

02. Fill that survives moisture
700g of SEE polyester fill keeps most of its warmth even when damp. Down loses 70% of its warmth wet. Synthetic loses closer to 10%.

03. Zero babysitting required
Pack it wet, stuff it into a pack that's about to rain on you, hang it in a humid Appalachian summer. It handles the weather you actually camp in.

one underquilt, every hammock, every season

Most of us don't sleep in the same hammock every trip. ENO DoubleNest on Tuesday, Kammok Roo on the weekend, Wise Owl the buddy handed down. Dino's 240 x 135 cm footprint and adjustable bungee suspension fit them all, not "technically compatible," actually snug.

And it's rated 40°F–68°F standalone, but paired with the right sleeping bag on top, real users report full-night sleep in the low 20s. That's what "4-season" actually means in a hammock: the underquilt is one layer of the system, dialed in with a bag that matches the forecast.

Confirmed hammock fit: ENO DoubleNest & SingleNest, Wise Owl, Kammok Roo, Grand Trunk, Onewind, gathered-end

Summer & shoulder season standalone: 40°F to 68°F (5°C to 20°C)

Cold-weather stack: pair with a 20° bag for the low 30s, a 0° bag for the low 20s

Backpacking, moto camping, van, backyard: 1.54 lbs and a 20 x 15 cm packed size fit anywhere

Dino Rescue Emergency Bandage Is Perfect For

Weekend Backpackers & Thru-Hikers

1.54 lbs and 20 x 15 cm packed. Slides into a 55L pack next to your food bag. The one warmth layer that earns its place in an ultralight setup.

Moto Campers & Vanlifers

Fits in a saddlebag next to your tarp. Set up in under a minute at the end of a long ride. Handles a wet ground and a dawn condensation drop without complaint.

Backyard & Patio Hammock Sleepers

The layer that turns a summer hammock into a shoulder-season one. Works in 45°F backyard nights with a comforter on top, no tent required.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAID?

I bought two and it meet my personal satisfaction. The items arrived in your regular shipping box in self contained black bags of no so great quality in which one of the bags zipper broke while opening. The quilt is storage in a compression bag for easy carrying while backpacking. The quality of the quilt and compression bag is good and with proper care should last you for many years. The setting is straight forward, you set your hammock and then add the quilt under leaving space in between.

I got the 40 degree version because the winter version didnt have Prime shipping and I needed it for a hunt that was coming up quick. I was in the high sierras about 12k elevation and used this underquilt, a 48 degree amazon sleeping bag, and a costco 50 degree down blanket as a top quilt. I slept really warm all night and the temperature got down to the high 30s. The next night we went up higher and slept by the truck so I used this underquilt and a 20 degree bag and I was roasting in the low 30s. Never once felt any winder underneath me. I love how its full size and can fit my shoulders all the way down to my feet unlike a lot of expensive ultralight ones that are 3/4 size.

The wife and I were at REI preparing for our first backpacking trip. When we mentioned we would be using hammocks instead of a tent, the salesman said we would need a underquilt. I though he was up-selling us but when he explained the science, I was on board. The one they offered was $200 so I politely declined and found this here on Dinosaurized store. It was June in the Sierra Nevada but still got down to 40ish over night. The combo of this underquit and our 32 degree bags kept us snug as a bug. If you want to hammock camp, get this bad boy for sure. I was so comfortable I contemplated setting it up in our room but was overruled by my wife. Thanks for squashing my dreams HEIDI.

ONE TIME OFFER

One-Time 50%+ OFF Offer From Dinosaurized's Old Men

Hey there, I've got something special for you. A one-time, 50% OFF discount. You see, our holsters are crafted by a very few incredibly skilled, yet aging artisans. Their handiwork has been key to our success.

But, we've recently paused production. The guys? We're taking them & their family on a trip around Europe - it's something they've always wanted to do. So now, we've just got a few folks left handling the shipping of our remaining stock.

Now, I'll be honest - it does sting a bit to give you this offer, because we value our products and the craftsmanship that goes into them. But we need to clear out the warehouse soon so our remaining team can join us on the Europe trip. And who knows, you might end up with a holster that becomes a rare collectible.

This stock? It's flying off the shelves and we can't say for how long it'll stick around. But hey, there's no pressure here, we're on your side. We do have to say, though, we truly, truly believe that missing out on this state-of-the-art holster at such a GREAT DISCOUNTED price would be a real shame. It's an opportunity that doesn't come around often.

How cold can I actually sleep in it?

Standalone rating is 40°F to 68°F (5°C to 20°C). That's honest. Paired with a proper sleeping bag on top, users routinely sleep in the low 30s with a 20° bag, and into the mid 20s with a 0° bag. One reviewer took it to the Boundary Waters at 20°F with a winter bag and called his hammock camp "comfy."

What happens if it rains or the ground is wet?

The 20D ripstop nylon shell has a DWR (durable water repellent) coating, so light rain and morning condensation bead off. The SEE polyester fill keeps most of its warmth even if a little moisture does get through, unlike down which loses 70% of its warmth wet. Pair with a tarp overhead and you're good.

How long does setup actually take?

1000D reinforced nylon — tear-resistant and water-resistant, meaningfully heavier than the 600D most pouches use. Two-way zipper with pull cords, woven handles at both ends, and a metal drain grommet in the floor.
