Bought this for my dad for Christmas. I originally bought him a medium but had to return for a large. It does have zipper sides which is nice if you have a heavier top underneath. He loves it and said it is easy to use and battery last, is easy to charge. It was a great gift to keep him cozy.

Haven’t used this on a ride yet, but testing in our home it heated up nicely. One feature is that the temp will turn itself down once it has reached maximum, saving battery energy. Looks to be very well made and size is as expected. My guy wears a Large size t-shirt, so I got an XL figuring he would be wearing the vest over his shirt and probably his leather vest, too. It fits well and looks good on him. A bonus is that the heat pads are situated under the hand pockets and you can then warm your hands as well. The battery attaches to the vest via a standard USB (old square style, not “C” style), so you could carry an extra power pack like the one for your cell phone. I recommend this product; makes a great gift.

How long does the heat actually last?

Honest numbers: up to 8 hours on low, about 6 on medium, 3-4 on high. Most people warm up on high for a few minutes, then drop to low and forget about it. Long shift in hard cold? That's what the spare battery add-on is for — swaps in your pocket in seconds.

Can I use my own power bank?

Usually, yes — it runs on a standard USB connection, and buyers use their existing packs as backups. Output voltage matters, so the included battery is the sure thing.
