I just took these out for a hike today and I’m really impressed. The material is super thin, flexible and fits just right. They fit a little loose throughout the leg, but that’s pretty much ideal for hiking pants to be breathable and keep the bugs at bay. I love how the leg zipper unzips around the back of the knee instead of the front, I like to undo it part way to quickly vent a lot of heat while keeping sun and bug protection. Better than Expected ! To compare, large Maine based outfitter pants. Husband got the large outfitter pants, outrageously priced, waited for them to appear in the factory store at a reduced price. The Nomad runs a touch large, so go one waist size DOWN from your usual jeans for the best fit. The elastic-back waistband gives you a little play on top of that.

Q3: Will it stay on my head?

They're water-resistant, not a rain suit. Light rain, splashes, and creek crossings bead off and dry quickly. In a real downpour you'll want a shell, but you won't be hauling around soaked, heavy pants either.
