I recently came across this item, probably while late-night Youtube Binging. Until then, I was unaware that this sort of thing... was even a thing.

I'm not a top tier tactical dude, but I could see this product's potential immediately.

I purchased one for metal detecting / treasure hunting. It's got enough clear area for a small location or grid map... if surveying a site. You could also put in some Quick Reference cards (DIY) for your detector settings, VDI # chart, tone breaks, all sorts of info.

Grease pen or Dry Erase, easy peasy.

Small zippered pocket for ID, perfect!

Construction is solid (materials and stitching are much better than random stuff I've bought / seen.) If you need info close, like First Responders, EMS, SAR...MIL and CIV, it would work for many applications.

Note: this DOES NOT come with tactical range cards, so be aware of that. For my purposes... I will be creating my own cards / maps etc for my specific usage.

What size map does it hold?

Sized for folded maps and 3x5 cards. Fold your map to the section covering your route and it fits behind the clear window — most people carry a few folded sections and swap as they go.

Will it keep my map dry?

Yes. The clear vinyl windows seal your map and cards from rain, snow, and sweat. You can even write on the window with a grease pencil and wipe it clean.

Will it fit my arm?

The strap combines stretchy elastic with a wide velcro closure, so it fits a bare forearm in summer and opens over a heavy jacket in winter. Works for just about any arm size.
