I loathe shorts-- I don't have the body for them. My thighs are wrinkly at 60+. But it's hot, so I needed something-- these are actually surprisingly flattering AND comfortable. I like the cargo pockets and the material--lightweight soft cotton with a little stretch in the waist. In the pic, I put a large hairbrush in the side cargo pocket, so you can get an idea of depth. Definitely could fit a phone on one side and small wallet on the other, or sunnies, etc. There are also small side pockets where my hands are-- for small keychain, lip balm etc.

I am 5'9", 150 and medium fits great.

I like this style because the cargo pockets balance out of heft of my upper thighs, loose but not too loose on the legs and good fit on the rest of me. I'd say these run TTS, if you are short maybe go down a size because, the crotch might hang--these are high waisted for sure! At my height, they work great.
