Is this just a fishing vest?

It started life as one — then travelers, photographers and everyday-carry guys took it over. Most buyers have never baited a hook. If you carry more than three things when you leave the house, it's for you.

What size should I order?

One to two sizes up from his /her usual — the chart above already accounts for it, so just match his weight. Between sizes, go bigger; full pockets need room. Exchanges are free either way.

Will it keep me warm?

Honest answer: no — and that's the point. It's an open-mesh three-season vest built to NOT cook you. In winter it layers under a coat (buyers wore it under a winter coat across Europe); in summer it replaces the jacket you couldn't stand wearing.
