Q: How do the hooks actually attach?

Each of the four steel swivel snap-hooks has a spring trigger gate — press it open, hook it around a belt loop, release. The hook is now a closed steel circle around a sewn loop. It cannot pop off the way clamp jaws do; you have to deliberately open the gate to remove it.

Q: Will they damage my belt loops?

No — the load spreads across four loops, and the smooth steel hooks have no teeth. It's the clamp-style jaws that chew fabric; owners switch to this design specifically to stop damaging their pants (and their car seats).

Q: Do they fit big and tall men?
